> DEERFIELD BEACH – The Florida Department of Transportation has begun a project to improve Hillsboro Boulevard from west of Natura Boulevard to west of Dixie Highway in Deerfield Beach (0.663 miles). Project improvements will include the installation of decorative lighting, pedestrian countdown timers, new mast arms and the removal of old asphalt and repaving the left turn lanes of Hillsboro Boulevard and NW 2nd Avenue intersection. One lane in each direction of Hillsboro Boulevard will be closed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Construction begins September 2, 2014 and is expected to be completed by winter 2015.
