FDOT Traffic Impacts to Remain Until June 26th

Hello Neighbors, 


Please be aware of the following work that will take place between June 19th
and June 26th. We thank you for your patience as FDOT completes these
important upgrades to our roadways.


I-95 Interchange from Hillsboro Boulevard to SW 10th Street

Traffic Impact:

. Up to three southbound outside lanes of I-95 between Hillsboro Boulevard
and SW 10th Street may be closed Sunday through Friday, with the first lane
closing at 9 p.m., the second lane closing at 10 p.m. and the third lane, if
needed, closing at 12:30 a.m. until 5 a.m.
. I-95 southbound exit ramp to SW 10th Street will be fully closed Sunday
through Friday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via
Hillsboro Boulevard. (See attached flyer)
. Two westbound lanes of SW 10th Street west of I-95 will be closed
intermittently Monday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for a traffic
shift.

Description: This project consists of widening southbound I-95 to add an
auxiliary lane from the Hillsboro Boulevard entrance ramp to the SW 10th
Street exit ramp, widening the existing southbound I-95 exit ramp to SW 10th
Street, addition of a free flow right turn lane to westbound SW 10th Street,
widening of westbound SW 10th Street to add an acceleration lane, utility
relocation, milling and resurfacing, bridge widening, installation of
barrier walls, curbs, sidewalks, guardrail, drainage, overhead signs,
signing and pavement markings, signals, lighting, and retaining walls. This
is the first of five interchange improvement projects throughout Broward and
Palm Beach Counties. 

Cost/Completion: Construction cost for all five projects is $32.5 million.
Completion in summer 2017. 

Hillsboro Boulevard from west of Natura Boulevard to west of Dixie Highway
in Deerfield Beach

Traffic Impact:

. One lane in each direction of Hillsboro Boulevard from west of Natura
Boulevard to west of Dixie Highway will be closed Monday through Friday
between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Description: Project improvements include installing new decorative lighting
along Hillsboro Boulevard within the project limits, installing countdown
timers at the pedestrian crossings at Natura Boulevard and NW 3rd Avenue,
installing a new mast arm signal at NW 2nd Avenue, and removing old asphalt
and resurfacing the roadway.

Cost/Completion: $831,515.39. Completion in fall 2015.

Powerline Road Improvements in Deerfield Beach

Traffic Impact:

. One lane in each direction of Powerline Road from north of West Drive to
the Palm Beach County line will be closed Monday through Friday between 9
a.m. and 5 p.m.
. One lane in each direction of Powerline Road from north of West Drive to
the Palm Beach County line will be closed overnight Sunday through Friday
between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Description: Project improvements include widening Powerline Road from north
of West Drive to the Broward / Palm Beach County Line to accommodate bike
lanes and shoulders from north of West Drive to the Broward / Palm Beach
County Line, removing old asphalt and resurfacing the roadway, upgrading
curbs and ramps to meet ADA standards, installing new pavement markings,
installing new street signs, installing pedestrian countdown timers,
improving lighting on the west side of Powerline Road just north of
Hillsboro Boulevard.

Cost/Completion: $3,035,505. Completion in summer 2015.

A1A Bridge Rehabilitation Project over the Hillsboro Inlet in Hillsboro
Beach

Traffic Impact:

. North Riverside Drive underneath the bridge is closed for the duration of
construction.
. The bridge is closed overnight to navigation between 7:30 p.m. and 7:30
a.m. for the duration of the project. Mariners may request an opening during
this time by providing a four-hour advance notice to the bridge tender or by
calling (954) 943-1847.
. The vertical clearance of the bridge will be reduced by 2 feet for the
duration of the project.
. The north and south side channels will be closed to navigation for the
duration of the project because of on-going work in the channels. 
. The bridge will be closed continuously to all vehicles, bicycles and
pedestrians from Wednesday, June 17 to Friday, July 3. For marine traffic

Description: The improvements under this contract include removing the
existing concrete and replacing the concrete deck; constructing a new
sidewalk and pedestrian railing along the south side of the bridge;
constructing new traffic railings along both sides of the bridge; upgrading
the fender system; restoring existing bridge tender house; installing
decorative statue and accent lighting, and removing existing paint with
blasting process and re-painting the bridge.

Cost/Completion: $7.8 million. Completion in late 2015.
